Consul hails Djibouti on 40th independence anniversary

Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, Honorary Consul, Republic of Djibouti in Nigeria, has felicitated with the Republic of Djibouti on its landmark 40th independence anniversary.

Afolabi, in a congratulatory message sent to Ismail Omar Guelleh, President of Djibouti, lauded the country for both the political and economic feats achieved in the last four decades.

While acknowledging the various challenges the country has weathered through, Afolabi praised the resilience, courage and determination of its citizens, as well as the capable and dynamic leadership that the president has provided.


He said: “The leadership style of the president which is manifested in his vision, dynamism and inclusiveness is worthy of emulation by all African leaders. His leadership drive has become a source of encouragement and inspiration, not only to the teeming citizens of the country, but also reverberates far beyond the borders of Djibouti. This has accounted for the flourishing and prosperous state of the country.”

Afolabi further promised to deploy his status to further strengthen business relationship between the country and Nigerian business community.
